A teenage girl and her father travel to a remote alien moon, aiming to strike it rich. Prospect Par Unknown. Prospect may ultimately be too minor key to truly resonate, but it at least carves out its own unique space by establishing its own world with its own rules. It's a bit Riddick, a bit Alien, a bit 2001, with a Western sensibility thrown in. Proves that you can make an engaging science fiction movie that is well acted for what I assume is a limited budget.

Everything onscreen seems to have a backstory that isn't laid out for you. “Prospect”, of course, winks at the notion of prospectors, gold rushes, banditos, and other Western tropes. Big budget movies are often "bad" because of that their main focus is the visuals, the CGI, etc neglecting the important parts of the movie.

9 talking about this. Prospect is a movie that cares about character development and makes you care about its characters as well. But it’s also, and I say this thankfully, low budget. It features the death of a father on a strange frontier, and a cadre of desperate men and women trying to make it rich and get the hell out. Doesn't spoon feed the audience. They've secured a contract to harvest a large deposit of the elusive
