It's been a long, gloomy, cold, snowy winter already. This outlook is looking pretty great for ski & snowboard country, USA. The 2020 edition of the Farmers' Almanac predicts that two-thirds of the country will face a colder-than-normal winter season. Overall, winter 2019-20 will be colder than average, according to Farmers’ Almanac. Farmers' Almanac released its forecast for winter 2018-19. Last winter, the OFA's competitor Farmers' Almanac (founded in 1818) predicted a cold and wet season.While the Almanac has yet to put out a forecast of their own for Winter 2019, the National Weather Service's predictions are similar to the OFA's: above-normal temps for most of the country, particularly the Southwest, Northeast, and Northwestern Alaska. The Pacific Northwest and Southwest should see near-normal precipitation. The worst of the bitterly cold winter conditions will affect areas east of the Rockies all the way to the Appalachians. The Farmers Almanac’s prediction comes on the heels of the Old Farmers Almanac’s Forecast and the NOAA Official Winter Weather Outlook.. The Farmers’ Almanac released their 2019/20 winter outlook today. The Almanac is predicting a long, cold, snowy winter. Just my opinion. A map breaks it down by region with conditions ranging from “pleasant” in Texas and “nice” in Florida to “snowy, icy, icky” in Iowa, Missouri and parts of Illinois, Kansas, and Nebraska. This just days after the Old Farmer's Almanac said winter 2019 would be warm and wet!
