The best ones in my opinion are dedicated nights with no cover charge. The best open mics are not about the best talent. It’s time to try an open mic! Performance should last no longer than 15 minutes per participant. Try to be consistent from day one but don’t be afraid to make a change if something isn’t working, just make sure it’s clearly communicated to participants or audience members well in advance.
