The feature of a company like Funcom, experienced with desert always sounds weird to me. Funcom, the Norwegian crew behind Conan Exiles and The Secret World, today announced that they’re planning to make several video games based on Dune.

Founded in 1993, Funcom is an independent developer and publisher of games for PC and consoles.

Tencent already owns pieces …

Bests,

The company has offices in Oslo, Norway and North Carolina, US. Funcom Oslo AS (OSE: FUNCOM, formerly Funcom Productions AS) is a Norwegian video game developer specializing in online games. Why? Titles include Conan Exiles and Secret World Legends. We've made over 20 games and here's some of them!

We've made over 20 games and here's some of them! I admire the work of Funcom, they really know how to make a desert. I admire the work of Funcom, they really know how to make a desert. The feature of a company like Funcom, experienced with desert always sounds weird to me. I love Dune book series, and it will be an interesting experience to play a game in this universe.

Funcom has announced that at least one new Dune game is in the works alongside the new movie.

Because Dune games have traditionally been strategy games. Founded in 1993, Funcom is an independent developer and publisher of games for PC and consoles. Funcom has entered into an exclusive partnership with Legendary Studios to develop games based on the works of Frank Herbert’s DUNE, one of the world’s best known science fiction universes with multiple adaptations into movies, games and other media. China’s Tencent wants to buy Funcom, and that means good things for its upcoming Dune survival multiplayer game.

A new adaptation of Dune is coming to movie theaters in 2020, and it’ll be getting some video games to go with it, says Funcom..
We best know Dune round these parts for Dune II , Westwood’s seminal 1992 real-time strategy game which set the blueprint for Command & Conquer and Warcraft and so on. It is best known for the massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) titles Age of Conan, Anarchy Online, and The Secret World – and The Longest Journey series of adventure games. Conan Exiles developer Funcom recently picked up the Dune IP and is working on at least three Dune games, including an ‘open-world multiplayer’ title.

You might imagine that Dune would be a better fit for a Europa Universalis clone rather than a Conan clone.

I love Dune book series, and it will be an interesting experience to play a game in this universe.
