Sales in China doubled compared to the same period last year, to $12.5bn, and some analysts predict that China could overtake the US to become Apple’s biggest market. Apple last week announced its plans to set up two new R&D centers in China, its latest effort to boost its standing in the world’s second-largest economy. The UBS team believes that 44% of iPhone users in 2015 will upgrade into the iPhone 7 through 2017. That's because Apple has stopped providing public sales figures for the iPhone, as of Nov. 2018.In some ways, this isn't that unusual: many of its competitors, such as Amazon and Google, don't provide specific, detailed sales figures for their top products. However, as successful as iPhone XS sales have been, the iPhone 7 still holds the number one slot.
UBS is boosting its June-quarter iPhone estimates from 32.5 million units to 34.5 million, though mostly on the basis that Apple is expected to sell more pre-2018 models.
